It seems silly, spreading soil atop the freshly cut surface of the log with our hands. In trail work, we are trained to make the tread of the trail look as natural as possible, and to make it appear as if the rocks had rolled to those spots on their own.

And at times we paddled in a single file line, trying to avoid the boulders and forests of underwater kelp beneath us in the clear shallow waters.

64.6334026° / -19.295153° lumber and sunken rebar steps that lead to a foggy terrain of an earth toned blend of gravel and sand based soil, with ridges full of snow that has gathered and clung to the terrain, shifting bluish gray streaks of rocks that build up the rising peaks and pockets of bright green vegetation.
